All second-hand cars are given a full check and come with a 3-month (labour-only) warranty. This means that if your brake pads go, you just pay for the pads themselves and not the fitting. This does not cover abuse or neglect of the vehicle, e.g. driving with the oil light on or with the temperature gauge in the red.
